Amy Winehouse: All Out of Cash?

Get this – Amy Winehouse has spent so much $$ on “nose candy” that she can’t even afford to pay for a taxi!

On Sunday afternoon the spasmodic beehive popped into her favorite corner-store to stock up on newspapers, icy poles, chocolates and teabags. According to The Daily Mail, after catching a cab back to her London flat the Addicted songbird realized she was out of cash.

Amy kept the driver waiting as she scrambled up the steps to conduct a change search in her humble abode.

Showing up empty-handed several minutes later, Winehouse stood in the doorway like a deer caught in the headlights until a couple of friendly photogs offered to pay the fare. Embarrassing much?

Although it’s unclear whether or not she is still in charge of her daughter’s finances, Janis Winehouse put the star on a $300 a week allowance late last year in order to limit the overflow of narcotics. Of course the only problem with that is Amy probably still ended up spending every last dime on drugs which - if still on the allowance - would account for her money shortage during Sunday’s debacle.

Since she was recording tracks for her upcoming album over the weekend, perhaps the troubled singer will finally be able to afford public transportation.
